Privacy
As of 24 October 2026. This is a translation; the German version is authoritative.
In short
The Lama app does not collect any personal data. It does not connect to the internet, shows no ads, uses no analytics or tracking services and has no user accounts.
What the app stores on the iPad
To work, Lama keeps the following on the device:
- which letters, letter groups and numbers have been unlocked in the parents' area,
- how often a character has been practised and whether it has been ticked off,
- the written pages in the writing history (only the strokes, with a date),
- the markings in the reading stories.
This data never leaves the iPad. It is not transferred to us or to anyone else and stays in the app's own storage. Deleting the app deletes all of it. The practice counters can also be reset in the parents' area.
Whether Apple includes app data in iCloud backups of the device depends on the iPad's settings and on Apple's privacy policy.
App Store
Lama is distributed through Apple's App Store. When you download the app, Apple processes data such as your Apple ID; this is Apple's responsibility and governed by Apple's privacy policy. Apple only gives us aggregated figures (such as the number of downloads), never information about individual people.
This website
When you open this website, the server processes technically necessary information – IP address, time, requested page and browser identifier – to deliver the page and to protect it against abuse (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). This information is not combined with other data and not analysed. The site sets no cookies and loads nothing from third-party servers.
If you write us an email, we use your address and your message only to reply.
Children
Lama is made for primary school children – which is exactly why the app collects nothing. The parents' area is protected against accidental access by a small arithmetic task.
Controller and your rights
The controller is Philipp Kuhlmay, Kieselerweg 10, 65385 Rüdesheim am Rhein, Germany, lama@treupo.de.
You have the right to access, rectification, erasure and restriction of processing, the right to object and the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, for example the Hessian Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information.
